To the editor:

In her recent article (Picked on by their profs, 10/30) Sharon Schuman does our organization a disservice by claiming that we "are aimed at protecting a new minority-conservatives" and by stating that the academic freedom debate revolves around the question of what is "too liberal."

Students for Academic Freedom has defended both conservative and liberal students alike. The central issue of this campaign has nothing to do with the beliefs of professors-in fact our Academic Bill of Rights explicitly states that such beliefs should have no impact on hiring and tenure.
