To Whom It May Concern:
Let it be known that the College Republican National Committee supports George Culpepper and the Auraria Campus College Republicans. Too often colleges professors claim to be in favor of diversity yet are virulently opposed to differing political opinions. The actions and statements of the Metro State Faculty Federation is an example of the worst kind of this bias.

We are deeply disappointed with the developing situation at Metro State and are frustrated with the actions of Professor Oneida Meranto. Professor Meranto has not only made differing opinions and open dialogue impossible in her classroom, but she has not treated her students fairly because of their political beliefs. George Culpepper is currently exploring the possibilities of filing a formal complaint to the US Department of Education for the violation of his privacy rights under the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act because of his opposing viewpoints. Such actions are intolerable and the College Republican National Committee stands strongly behind George Culpepper.

The College Republican National Committee commends state Senate President John Andrews, U.S. Congressman Tom Tancredo, and the founder of Students for Academic Freedom, David Horowitz, for their continuing efforts to protect Auraria Campus College Republicans from the political bias they are experiencing on campus and in their classrooms.
